River training works and erosion protection

In order to improve the navigability of a waterway, river training works are often needed: capital dredging, groynes, guiding walls, chevrons, bottom sills, ... IMDC can select the most appropriate infrastructure works needed, taking into account economical, social and ecological boundary conditions, and can make the conceptual design as well as the detailed design including the preparation of the tender documentation. Navigation induced waves can pose large stresses on  river bank protections. IMDC can calculate these hydraulic loads and select and design the appropriate bank protection to resist them.
