Ground water / Ecological restoration

Ecological restoration has become a major driving force in improving the water system and the environment in general. Ecosystem services strongly contribute to the improvement of water quality, and are an undisputable economic factor in savings for water treatment. It is therefore no surprise that large infrastructural projects are rather seen as opportunities to restore nature.
IMDC focuses on some specific fields of ground water flow: ground water resources on catchment scale, the interaction between surface water management and ground water flow, particularly for ecohydrological restoration, the assessment of the effect of large infrastructural works, often in saline coastal aquifers.
