Environmental impact

IMDC can assess the impact of any kind of man-made structures in these complex and often vulnerable coastal and estuarine areas. With our models we predict, for example, the expected coastline evolution after the construction of a port, and we can suggests modifications to limit the impacts. Also the effect of marine and dredging activities on the system can be determined (e.g. plume and dispersion studies), and optimal construction and maintenance strategies can be developed and tested.  Sedimentation in  harbours and  acces channels can be modelled and analysed and interventions can be proposed. With this specific expertise we can also support and even design your nature development or compensation projects.
